Alan Murdoch FPGA BSc - Director of Golf

Alan's a highly respected Scottish professional who has played on the OMEGA Tour, the Nike Tour in the US, and the European challenge tour. His playing and teaching career began when he graduated from North-East Louisiana University and was appointed assistant pro at Dalmahoy Country Club near Edinburgh. He worked at Dalmahoy until taking up a teaching post in Hamburg. In Germany he combined playing and teaching until he decided to play full-time. Now, after gaining vital experience on the pro circuit, he has returned to his native Edinburgh to be Director of Golf at Kings Acre.

Alan runs the day-to-day business at Kings Acre and continues to teach. In his instruction he focuses on working with individual swings and try's to blend in improved movement patterns to their swings. He says, "Good grip, a constant clubface and swing the club on the correct line"! His success is clear, since Alan is one of Scotland's most popular and highly regarded instructors.

Ian Butcher - Head Of Instruction
Few Scottish coaches can rival Ian's understanding of the golf swing and how golfers learn and improve their game. These specialist topics have been the focus of his interest throughout his career. Awarded the Titleist National PGA assistants scholarship in 1999, Ian is a regular at education seminars and the European Teaching Conference. He's also been part of the Scottish Golf Coach programme since 2002. Recently qualified as a PGA rules referee, Ian's expertise has seen him appointed as technical representative for Yonex UK in Scotland.

Jamie Wales - PGA Professional
Having played his amateur golf on the links of Montrose, Jamie's first professional appointment was at Burton-on-Trent Golf Club. In early 2005 he returned to Scotland to join the team at Kings Acre.

Having successfully completed the PGA degree programme, Jamie has an impressive knowledge of the golf swing and has learned some invaluable lessons from some of the game's most respected coaches.

Jamie will continue to combine his duties at the Academy while continuing to represent Kings Acre in Tournament Golf.

Matt Sellors - PGA Professional

The newest addition to the Kings Acre team, joining in April 2010 from Chorlton cum Hardy Golf Club on the outskirts of Manchester. Matt qualified in 2008 after successfully finishing his PGA degree programme.

Matt has a keen interest in teaching people of all ability and is constantly expanding on his already vast knowledge of the golf swing.

Matt is delighted to have joined one of the finest practice facilities in the UK and looks forward to the challanges ahead.
