To stand out in Scotland a course has to be more than different – it has to be truly special. At Kings Acre we’ve put every effort into creating a playing experience that’s second to none. We started with a great location and brought in some of the best design brains to fashion a course that provides a true test of skill and attitude. Have a look around and see for yourself.

  • Hole 1

    Sandy Brae

The opening hole is a par 4 which doglegs slightly from left to right. Here it is essential to place your tee shot in the left half of the fairway in order to provide yourself with the best angle from which to approach the green. The green itself, which is wide from left to right but shallow from front to back, has three levels which will test your ability to both read the green and to gauge the pace of the putting surface.

  • Hole 2

    Pentlands

The second hole is a relatively straight forward par 5 generally played into the prevailing wind. A good drive will give the longer hitters the chance to reach the green in two. However, it is probably best played as a three shot par 5. The large green slopes from back to front making any putt from beyond the hole fairly quick.

  • Hole 3

    Bunkered

The second of three par 5’s, the third hole, requires a long straight tee shot over the brow of the hill. From the fairway, it is essential to place your second shot in the fairway to leave a short iron into a green heavily guarded by bunkers. This green slopes gently from front to back and contains very subtle contours to test your putting skills. Walk away with a par here and you can be justifiably satisfied.
