Alan's a highly respected Scottish professional who has played on the OMEGA Tour, the Nike Tour in the US, and the European challenge tour. His playing and teaching career began when he graduated from North-East Louisiana University and was appointed assistant pro at Dalmahoy Country Club near Edinburgh. He worked at Dalmahoy until taking up a teaching post in Hamburg. In Germany he combined playing and teaching until he decided to play full-time. Now, after gaining vital experience on the pro circuit, he has returned to his native Edinburgh to be Director of Golf at Kings Acre.
Alan runs the day-to-day business at Kings Acre and continues to teach. In his instruction he focuses on working with individual swings and try's to blend in improved movement patterns to their swings. He says, "Good grip, a constant clubface and swing the club on the correct line"! His success is clear, since Alan is one of Scotland's most popular and highly regarded instructors.
Kurt has over 22 years experience as a PGA qualfied golf professional, is TPI (Titleist Performance Institue) qualified and a certified club fitter. Kurt a Lothians Golf Association coach for 10 years has been heavily involved in junior development. Kurt has continued his professional development and is a keen student of the game. He adopts a "holistic" approach to game development & factors in all components to help golfers reach their potential. He developed his "route to success" assesment so golfers can identify the key areas they need to improve in, take their practice to the course and make practice fun!
Ross is currently in the process of completing his PGA Foundation Degree in Professional Golf Studies (FdA) which will enable him to achieve fully qualified professional status in 2016. Ross has worked at Kings Acre since June 2014, coming from Whitekirk Golf & Country Club where he completed his first year of training. Ross has completed his level 1 & 2 golf coaching qualifications and seeks to use his new found golfing knowledge and previous experience gained from being a Lothians Boys Player since he was 13 which saw him coached by some of Scotland's best coaches, to the best of his ability. He is a firm believer that learning and playing golf should be fun and his role as a coach is to increase the players enjoyment and understanding of the game.
